  • Art has been at the heart of my life since my early school days in Finland. After high school, I pursued oil painting and live model charcoal drawing, but sensitivities to chemicals led me to explore new creative paths. Following my move to California in 1999, I discovered watercolor—a medium that perfectly captures the light, atmosphere, and subtle beauty I’ve always been drawn to. With a keen eye for detail, I invite you to see the world as I experience it: morning fog gently wrapping around you, white clouds drifting across endless blue skies, and glowing sunsets fading into tranquil blue hours. My work reflects the peace and serenity I find in nature, with the hope that each painting offers you a moment of connection and calm.

  • Growing up surrounded by Finland’s breathtaking landscapes deeply shaped my artistic vision. Today, I blend those roots with the natural beauty of California, bringing together two worlds on paper. Watercolor allows me to express the movement of clouds, the fluidity of water, and the richness of greenery that continue to inspire me.

  • In addition to my work as an artist, teaching has been a central part of my life. I served as an art docent in Los Altos elementary schools over ten years, teaching art to students from pre-K through sixth grade. I have also been a Finnish School teacher since 1999 and have served as principal since 2004. Working with children is my passion, and I incorporate creative art projects into every session we share.

  • As a member of the Fine Art League of Cupertino and the Sunnyvale Art Club, I’ve exhibited in numerous juried shows and have been honored with several awards. I was Artist of the Year in 2022 and 2023 in Sunnyvale Art Club.
