Lynnette Jones

I have loved art since kindergarten when I smuggled my favorite colored crayon into class. The teacher confiscated my crayon because I was only allowed eight colors. I lived on a farm in Spencer, Iowa. My four-year degree is a Bachelors of Fine Art from Iowa State University. I worked over 30 years as a graphic designer creating invitations on www.LoveYourDesign.etsy.com. Then we moved to California.
Lynn Paints Pets started because I was riding the CalTrain and saw a dog that looked just like my childhood dog Bluebell. At first I was very happy, but a few moments later, silent tears were streaming down my cheeks. I missed my dog and there was unresolved grief that I had to work out. When I got home, I painted Bluebell’s portrait in watercolors. This started my passion to paint pets. There is no better feeling than surprising someone with a painting of their pet. I also paint the strays of Bay Area Cats and donate the painting to the person who adopts the cat or kitten. My scanned art has become over 1400 repeat patterns for fabric and wallpaper.
