I was born and raised in Taiwan. When I was little, I liked to watch my mother create patterns and pictures for her embroidery. At that time, I dreamed of someday becoming an artist. After I graduated from college, I came to New York for graduate school and earned two masters’ degrees, in Mathematics and Computer Science, in order to obtain a job more easily. During that time, I enjoyed visiting the Metropolitan Art Museum in New York City. Then, I joined AT&T Bell Labs to develop the cellular phone system. After working for ten years, I quit my job to raise my five children, and later moved to San Jose in 1995. It was not until my youngest child was in her senior year of high school that I began to learn how to paint. I later enrolled in several watercolor lessons in the community adult school. My watercolor classmate Christine MacDonough encouraged me to join the Sunnyvale Art Club at the end of 2013. Since then I have looked forward to attending the monthly meeting and all the activities.
