Live Drawingpainting session
Below is a list of materials that participants might need for a live drawing and painting session during July art club meeting. Please note that the exact materials may vary depending on the preferred mediums and techniques of the artists:
For Drawing:
1. Sketchbook or drawing paper (various sizes, depending on preference)
2. Graphite pencils (a range of hardness, e.g., 2H, HB, 2B, 4B, 6B)
3. Charcoal sticks or pencils (both vine and compressed)
4. Erasers (kneaded eraser, rubber eraser, and precision erasers)
5. Sharpeners or a craft knife for pencils and charcoal
6. Blending stumps or tortillons
7. Fixative spray (to prevent smudging)
8. Drawing board or clipboard (for support)
9. Easel (if preferred for posture and ease of drawing)
For Acrylics/Oil Painting:
1. Canvases or canvas boards (pre-stretched/pre-primed)
2. Acrylic or oil paints (basic color set or individual tubes)
3. A variety of paintbrushes (flats, rounds, filberts, and detail brushes)
4. Palette knives (for mixing paints or applying texture)
5. Palette (could be a traditional palette, disposable palette, or palette paper)
6. Water container (for acrylics) or solvent container (for oils, e.g., odorless mineral spirits)
7. Mediums (like linseed oil for oil paints, acrylic mediums for acrylics)
8. Rags or paper towels (for wiping brushes and spills)
9. Apron or old clothes (to protect from paint stains)
10. Table easel or studio easel
For Watercolor Painting:
1. Watercolor paper (preferably 140lb/300gsm or higher, cold-pressed)
2. Watercolor paint set (tubes or pans, depending on preference)
3. A range of watercolor brushes (rounds, flats, mops, and a fine detail brush)
4. Palette for mixing colors (could be a folding palette, a ceramic dish, or a plastic palette with wells)
5. Two water containers (one for clean water to mix with paints, one for rinsing brushes)
6. Masking fluid (to preserve white areas of the paper)
7. Masking tape or artists' tape (to stretch the paper or create clean edges)
8. Mixing tray or an additional palette for larger quantities of color
9. Watercolor pencils (optional, for sketching or adding detail)
